Over ten years ago now, I decided to pursue a life-long dream of becoming a photographer. Studying black and white photography in high school and following my passion into college by majoring in traditional film photography I was exposed to a whole new world of what photography is and what it can be. I knew what I wanted to do, I wanted to capture images that have meaning and evoke emotion for everyone that looks at my photography. With this new outlook and wealth of knowledge, I moved back to Michigan to bring everything I learned in the big city of Pittsburgh and art school back to the mitten to pursue my passion of capturing photo journalistic images of every person and every moment I came across. I pride myself in putting my clients wants and needs above all and staying true to my photo journalistic style. With every photo shoot, from weddings to high school seniors and newborns, I document real moments in candid form, making each image captured a way to remember the joy and happiness from that moment for years to come. From Oakland County to Macomb County to Wayne County, Alex Harris Photography will be there.
When I am not behind the camera, I work as an administrator at small business located out of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. This job allows me to connect with people on a whole new level by giving them the best customer service by helping them with projects for their home. I also have the opportunity to capture some amazing work that is done by the company by putting my knowledge of twilight and night photography into use for them, just another perk of the job!
When I am not capturing moments for clients or editing, I spend my days with the love of my life. We spend a lot of time working on our small home in Mount Clemens taking it from an old 1930’s house to a home. We enjoy relaxing by watching classic television shows and eating sushi. I normally have my camera with me for all our adventures, from downtown to Detroit to the end of South River Road in Harrison Township, I want to document everything.
